For EMT-Basic and EMT-Intermediate, primary, refresher and recertification training, and current health care providers.
This computer simulation program allows EMS students and practitioners to perform their critical decision making skills in patient assessment, treatment, transport, communication and documentation.
Talk with, touch, move patients; interact with bystanders and witnesses. MERS™ provides the sights, sounds, stress and action of actual pre-hospital emergency situations, and evaluates the students' decisions, actions, conclusions, and documentation. Simulations provide evaluations, including scored DOT skill sheets; and accreditation by CECBEMS. MERS™ runs on all Windows and MAC computer platforms.

- Receive dispatch and perform a scene survey, look around and examine things.
- Patient assessment includes hundreds questions all easy to find and organized to emphasize DOT assessment. Touch, move and interact with your patient, check vital signs, perform rapid, focused or detailed physical exams. Your patient will respond appropriate to their condition, which may change during the call.
- Perform any BLS treatment, e.g., hands-on-stable, examine neck, apply c-collar and spine board; perform a head tilt-chin lift; insert an oral adjunct, select a mask and flow rate, then administer oxygen.
- Make transport decision, request ALS backup, consult with medical direction to administer prescribed medications.
- Documentation includes chief complaint, patient history, exam findings, overall assessment with anticipated problems and treatments.
- Evaluates users on actions in the context of overall patient outcome, includes separate evaluation for assessment, assessment process, treatment, and documentation; plus scored DOT skill sheets.
- Patient outcomes are based upon the quality and timeliness of assessment, treatment and document.
